Pete, you’re not the only person who misinterpreted that last line. The last thing I want (even if we ignore that Joe Biden would become President) is the death of Barack Obama. He would become a “martyr”, and we’d never be rid of his malignant influence. What I want is to see him turned out of office, preferably about six or eight months before the 2016 elections, by impeachment, and have scandal, malfeasance and incompetence become his legacy. We could tolerate Biden for a few months, but not too much longer than that.

If the left is routed in 2014, his legislative ambitions would be squelched, and he would merely be a whining loser. Now that would be a legacy I could not only vote for but cheer for.

Careful, Jim. That last line will get you special attention from the IRS, or worse. When we have a White House, and by that I mean an administration that will do anything to achieve it’s utopian ideals, that cares nothing about the rule of law, our Republic is finished. Obama’s belief system is steeped in the ideology of collectivism. Put that in conjunction with low information voters fresh from a government dominated educational system and the future for individual freedom is finished. Sorry to be so negative, but there’s nothing salvageable in our current Federal leviathan. Ridding us of Obama would be only a very small step. His replacement should not be considered any better when dealing with the leviathan.

Thank you so much for this. Your illustration of the response on the street when the words go out, “Officer down!” is perfect. It is infuriating to watch the nonsense flowing out of our so-called defense department. When Leon Panetta was selected for the post, I instinctively yelped (in comments here and there), “What????” I was thoughtfully informed by someone who should have known better that Panetta was considered “a gray eminence….” among insiders. Oh, well. So much for gray eminences.

It is infuriating to be subjected to the consequences of the “leadership” of these yahoos who know nothing about principles of combat or military traditions — principles and traditions which were somehow habitually internalized and understood by the little sisters, mothers, aunts and grandmothers of military men long before these nation-wreckers were born.

Retail sales taxes are often the most transparent way to collect tax revenue. Indeed, while many citizens do not know the standard 10, 15, 25, 28, 33 and 35 percent federal personal income tax rates, they tend to have at least some idea of the sales tax in their state, or could reach into their pocket to pull out a receipt with the rate printed on it.

But Jim, Where would we be if you eliminated “fairness” from the Congressional and Executive vocabulary? What about Obama’s riff about a fair shot and a fair chance and a fair deal— so memorable that I can’t recall it correctly. They would have nothing left with which to appeal. If the people are not victims because the Evil Republicans are so mean and unfair, then what do they use for arguments? Once you get past “It isn’t fair” (always in a high pitched whine) then what?
Socialism doesn’t work. Europe’s Democratic Socialism doesn’t work, so what’s left but reforming Capitalism — to make it more fair. Ooops! See how hard it is? :>)

It’s ALWAYS about taxes isn’t it? I wonder if these elected officials have actually read their job description. It isn’t primarily to find ways to “enhance revenue” although you would think it is. How much legislation comes out that is beneficial for us? Anything that protects and preserves our freedom? Anything to protect us from foreign invasion? Not a damn thing. Even the hated Obamacare is about nothing but taxes. I read this morning that the government wants to look at retirement pensions and funds to make sure it’s fair. Oooohhh Noooo!

Every time I hear some moron whining about how much this or that failure to tax “costs” the government or when they say something about “spending through the tax code” it INFURIATES ME! Letting us keep our own money has morphed into stealing from the government. After all they tell each other “look at how much [or their own money] we let them keep!”

I heard a former Law Enforcement individual say on the Mark Levin show that you don’t know how many rounds are needed to protect yourself until AFTER the incident is over. Liberal politicians never seem to be able to grasp this basic point. They live in a fairy land oftentimes protected by armed security, so this thought never penetrates their mushy, muddled brain.
