Wouldn’t this be the Perfect Image

John Morton, Assistant Secretary of Homeland Security for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, said in an interview with the editorial board of the Chicago Tribune that his agency will not necessarily process illegal immigrants referred to them by Arizona authorities.

Isn’t that special? The Arizona legislation mirrors Federal law nearly word for word, so Mr. Morton is in effect hinting that he wouldn’t process illegal immigrants who are simultaneously breaking Federal law.

Perhaps even the Main Stream Media would be enticed into publishing images of Arizona law enforcement officers marching illegals to the border, ordering them to cross back into Mexico, and being prevented from doing so by a joint force of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents and Mexican Federales.

A picture like that would be worth a LOT more than a mere one thousand words. It would be akin to the photo from the Vietnam era of a South Vietnamese general executing a Viet Cong spy in the street during the 1968 Tet Offensive. That single photograph did more to turn the average American away from support for the war than any other single action.

Watching Obama’s minions try to stop the deportation of illegal immigrants would have the same level of impact.

Obama’s only other option would be to allow this sort of ad hoc deportation. And that option would not be well received (to put it mildly) by La Raza, the Congressional Hispanic Caucus or others who suffer delusions of racial superiority.

Either way, Obama loses. Isn’t that a real shame?
