So Harry Reid will “Rue the Day” huh?

An article Friday morning in the American Spectator by Joshua Shnayer titled Nuclear Politics ends with the words:

“For years, the two parties have had a gentleman’s agreement not to change the rules surrounding nomination filibusters, since the party in power knew that before long it might be out of power. That agreement his now been broken. If Republicans find success in the 2014 and 2016 elections, Harry Reid may rue this day.”

I’m afraid that anyone not comatose for the past half century, or at least the past five years since His Imperial Majesty Barack the First ascended to the Presidency, knows that no matter what Democrats perpetrate in terms of destroying the Republic will be blamed on the Republicans.

Doubt that, do you?

How about Democrats being the protectors of minorities?  Republicans, according to our Vice-President want to see “y’all back in chains.”  Never mind that Democrats were the instigators of the odious Jim Crow laws of the last part of the 19th and first half of the 20th centuries.  Never mind that Bull Connors, George Wallace and Orval Forbus were all Democrats.  Never mind that Lyndon Baines Johnson is reported to have uttered these words regarding the effect of the 1964 Civil Rights Act that he and his minions pushed through Congress:

The Niggers will vote Democrat for the next 200 years.”

Yet with eloquent aplomb, Democrats will tell the average (i.e., uninformed) voter that Republicans are anti-minority.

Even today, Democrats, particularly the Democrat-in-Chief and the media octopus that answers to his whistle in a frighteningly Pavlovian manner, that the blame for the  Obamacare rollout failure lies at the feet of Republicans.

There is no doubt that the practice of telling the Big Lie, over and over and over is what Democrats are counting on to get them through an electoral rough spot.  I can even predict how the filibuster Big Lie will be worded:

“Well, yes, the Democrats did allow a radical Muslim cleric to be seated on the D.C. Court of Appeals, to sit right next to a communist inspired terrorist from the 60’s, but it’s only because the Republicans failed to stop us.  It’s really THEIR fault.”

Harry Reid isn’t going to “rue the day”.  He always has a Republican punching bag close at hand to take the blame, no matter what he and the Democrats have done.

One of the main reasons Harry Reid invoked the nuclear option is to act as a counterweight to Republicans, and people who oppose rule by bureaucratic fiat, from curtailing the power of the Federal bureaucracy. Rulings by the EPA, Interior Dept., FEC, and other non-elected branches of the executive will be challenged through the Federal Appeals Court in D.C. By removing the filibuster obstacle in the appointment process, Obama’s radical Marxist nominees will be approved by a compliant Senate over the next thirteen months.

Barack Obama ensures that any such appeal to this court, packed with these far left wing lackeys for relief from rules issued by these bureaucratic agencies, will be denied. This Court’s rulings will go far beyond the next Congressional election cycle thereby neutering any effect in a change of Senate power.

Harry Reid and Barack Obama are no mere politicians. Their aim is the complete destruction of the American constitutional system. They mean to impose a true utopian socialist system in the United States. The only effective means any opposition would have had to stop this would be for the Republican Party to stop worrying what trough feeders and democrat race baiters et. al think of them. They needed to stand up for freedom and liberty, personal responsibility and virtue as absolute necessity in our civic life. To this they have failed miserably.

If we cannot defend liberty and freedom, then we deserve the chains we have forged.

I can’t disagree with anything you’ve said. I was reacting to the rather self-satisfied author of the article and the “Well, we’ll get even. So there!” attitude. The Progressives/Democrats and the MSM will always have the Republicans to blame, until such time as conservative/Republican/Tea Partiers have to stop trying to just get the truth out, and allow voters to make a choice using logic and reason. They need to get a couple of “go for the jugular” PR and advertising firms to plan and execute attacks that are as vicious as those the Dems/Progs are using.

Now that will be a day that is rued by our wannabe socialist dictators in the government.

What a terrific description of the horrific media as an octopus. It has its destructive tentacles everywhere. Yes, conservatives have to go for the jugular and expose that liar in chief and the Democrats.with devastating attacks. The left mistakes kindness for weakness, so the conservatives have to use harsh measures to defeat them. And i dont think they have a lot of time left to stop this monster. Wonderful article and great comments.
